the poet

My name is Devin, and I wish to thank you for taking the time to grace this webpage. I am at the time of this writing 18 years old and am a poet from a small Midwestern city surrounded by corn. The beauty of my story is in the words that have graced my heart, mind, body, and soul. For the last 9 years of my life only two things have granted me complete peace of mind and solitude. Music and Poetry. Poetry has followed me since the fourth grade. Though never before have I challenged myself to write like this before. For the next 173 days, I am going to continue writing poetry and see what I come up with over the course of my one year journey. Poetry is a pathway towards the inner workings of the human soul. It is the road to truth, and the road to solitude. So much can be learned about a person in the words that they write. Thank you very much kind blog reader, internet surfer, and (insert witty internet cliq name here) I am very grateful for your time.

🙂 I love poetry too, I really appreciate you stopping by! Poetry is just one of those things that help me get through the day, I like writing of what I feel and what I see, and it just is a great escape.
