“Hello, Is Anybody Out There?” – Day 311 (Part II)

You get up in the morning,
Don’t know where you going.
You’re head explodes in unknowing.
What’s up,
What’s down?
Is there a way around?
The underground sings in desperation.
We wish for a martyr,
We pray for a saint.
And we sleep in the gutter,
Playing with strings,
As we wait and we wait
For heaven to sing.
The constant rapping at the door.
And someone whispers,

“Hello,
Is anybody out there?
Hello,
Is anyone still there, or
Am I alone in this place?
One face,
One world,
One empty space.
From upstate New York,
To Tokyo Japan.
Then somebody whispers.
Hello,
Is anybody out there?
Is anyone still listening
To life anymore?

You get home after work,
You’re son says he’s leaving.
You’re head explodes in unknowing.
How come,
Where to?
Is there a way to fix this?
The heart cries out in sudden desperation.
You wish to say no,
You wish to say yes,
You can’t be the villain,
Must be the saint.
Maybe it’ll be better,
But you don’t know,
So you wait and you wait,
And then someone whispers.

“Hello,
Is anybody out there?
Hello,
Is anyone still there, or
Am I alone in this place?
One face,
One world,
One empty space.
From upstate New York,
To Tokyo Japan.
Then somebody whispers,
Hello,
Is anybody out there?
Is anyone still listening
To love anymore?

There’s a difference between giving up,
And letting go, and seeing when its time.
There is a place for living, a place for laughing.
There is always a place for loving too.
There’s a door, and there’s a window.
A shape and a way.
There are signs, and there are symbols;
You just have to know where to look.
And when he says,

“Hello,
Is anybody out there?
Hello,
Is anyone still there, or
Am I alone in this place?
One face,
One world,
One empty space.
From upstate New York,
To Tokyo Japan.
The somebody whispers,
Hello,
Is anyone out there?
Is anyone still listening
To life anymore?
Hello,
Is anyone out there?
Is anyone still listening
To love anymore?”

What will you say in return?
