“The Long and Winding Hallway” – Day 289

The Long and Winding Hallway:
Don’t worry dear,
I’ve got you here.
Simplest of embraces
Remind me of the tastes.
I feel the air,
The atmosphere
Grow warm and calm
In time.
With vacant footsteps
Leaving Idle marks
Reminding me of the larks;
They speak in tongues
Unlike ours.
Prophesying the final hours.
Life is a long and winding hallway
There are no windows,
There are no signs,
There are only doors.
Each door is like the last;
Each door can lead either up
Or down,
Side to side,
Or maybe back and forth.
Every door makes a difference.
Every door could be the start of something
Or the end of something else all together.
